Everybody has heard about such a thing as a “one-man-band”. Right?
It’s when one man plays a few instruments simultaneously.
There are 2 most popular accompanying instruments when you play guitar: harmonica and drum.
Well, some sort of drum. Depending on your budget, it could be just an empty packing box or a real foot drum.
Or an electronic stomp box.
The first time I heard about stomp boxes was during the concert of Harry Manx, a Canadian blues singer and songwriter who uses Indian ragas in an amazing mixture with American blues and traditional music.
It was a small wooden box tapped by a performer’s foot. The brand is Australian Ellis Guitars
So, after some thorough research with Google, I decided to try to make my own stomp box.
Take a look what I’ve got
My P Bass pickups have the magnets sticking out of the case at the back. I presume it’s ok that they make contact with the aluminium covering the stomp box? Or have they got to be insulated from the Aluminium.
Hi, Kenneth.
I never seen something like that. Does affect the sound? This is the main question. What I wold do, I will put some dielectric stripe between the alluminium and the magnets. Just a piece of paoer will work. And I compare then if there is any difference. I expect there will be no difference, but you tell me.
I haven’t finished yet but got p bass pickup online. I will insulate the magnets from the Aluminium foil. The P Bass pickups are already wired but with the earth wire hanging loose. Where does that connect to please
